macrostructure
[ma'-crô-strû'-kcher] definition: The overall architecture of an object and the placement of features within it
method: aural cells/germs rearranged, repeated and distorted to produce an evolving form
outcome: either deliciously blurred or razor-sharp. surveillance-cam grainy or feverishly colourful
macrostructure began in 2004, shortly after the break up of bristol dub-hop pioneers Nub. macrostructure's themes are psychological, political and emotional subjects. without defined lyrics these themes are expressed only through title, mood and occassional vocal samples. meaning is ambiguous and the listener can take or leave as much as they want, or indeed impose their own. in the end each track becomes simply a sound object and 'musical form' is challenged. This can be both an absorbing and a disorientating experience. it's experimental electronica.
